Hi, my name is Alex. I have never blogged before... so not really sure what you’re supposed to put!
A little bit about me... I'm 18, straight from 6th form. I studied maths- mechanics, physics and design technology. I have always been mechanically minded... I'm a Land Rover enthusiast and have my own which i trial on a regular basis. I have done work experience at Ford in the test labs a few summers ago, seeing a few components being put through its paces was very interesting.
I work on a farm in the summer; this is very intensive work in a short time span. Team work is key, I enjoy using the large equipment and it always surprises me how unreliable it appears to be! This makes me wonder if it’s the designer at fault or if it’s the operator's fault through sloppy maintenance or misuse. The majority of the time the farmers say... they haven’t designed it for us to use.
I have enjoyed my first few days of University, the modules look good. I am pleased that the lecturers are recapping on subjects that I may be rusty on. So all in all I think I could do well here!
I hope this is along the lines of what a blog is supposed to be.
Hi Alex,
ReplyDeleteA great first post! How great to work on a farm in the summer - unreliability of farm equipment - what a brilliant dissertation subject!!! (looking to the future of course!! : ) )
